On 22nd September 2013, the South Asian Community under the banner of East Indian Community Walkathon of Waterloo Region, will be doing a walk for 5 kilometer, to raise funds for Cambridge Memorial Hospital Foundation. The entire funds collected shall be used for the hospital renovation and for purchasing equipment for hospital use. The people of Waterloo Region would tremendously benefit with this.
Various Indian, Sri Lankan and Pakistan community associations have become partners for this fund raising event. The walk will commence from 9.00 a.m. on Sunday the 22nd September, 2013 at the University of Waterloo, Student Life Centre, Waterloo and will conclude by 11.00 a.m. with light snacks and lucky draw prizes. Please come out with your family and friends for the event, rejuvenate yourself with walk and have fun, under the beautiful weather.

The East Indian Community of Waterloo Region is a not for profit organization and is an association of a like minded generous people from our own community trying to help raise funds for the hospitals in Waterloo Region. The group has tirelessly dedicated their time and energy, for the past 15 years, and raised funds (approx. $300,000) for Grand River K-W Hospital, Waterloo, St Mary’s Hospital, Kitchener and Cambridge Memorial Hospital. The target for this year is to collect $50,000, for Cambridge Memorial hospital’s huge renovation project.
